Here is a list of some healthy carbohydrate foods you may want to include in your low carb weight loss or weight maintenance meal plan:healthy low carb salad

  1. Vegetables— Perfect for any weight loss program, but an especially good option for people following a ketogenic or Atkins Induction weight loss diet because most are low in carbs and high in fiber. Enjoy your vegetables cooked or raw. Some of my favorite low carb vegetables are spring mix salads, spinach with eggs, steamed broccoli, and steamed asparagus. Chopped fresh garlic is a great addition to stir-frys and scrambled eggs.
  2. Cheese— Parmesan, cheddar, cream cheese, mozzarella, and Swiss are some tasty cheeses low in carbs. A good rule of thumb is to stick to about 3-4 oz of full fat cheese per day while losing weight. As you increase your daily carbs, try cottage cheese or ricotta cheese. The combination of fat and protein will keep you full.low carb snack olives
  3. Olives— Green or black, these are yummy additions to salads or a snack.   Low Carb Guacamole
  4. Avocados— ½ of a California avocado has 5.9 grams total carbs and 4.6 grams fiber (1.3 grams net carbs) and 10.5 grams of healthy fat. Include it as a snack, with some eggs in the morning, or on top of a salad. My app, Low Carb Menu Planner, also has a very tasty guacamole recipe!Healthy Low Carb Berries and Cream
  5. Cream— Heavy cream, half and half, and sour cream are delicious condiments. Use sour cream in a taco salad, with berries, or mixed into a sauce. Coffee is a luxurious treat with cream, cinnamon, and stevia.Macadamia Nuts Low carb Snack
  6. Nuts and Seeds— Almonds, macadamias, walnuts, pecans, and sunflower seeds are a few examples to include in your menus. An easy and portable snack, nuts can also be combined with protein, like hard-boiled eggs, for an on-the-go easy meal.Health Delicious Low Carb Dessert

  9. Peanut Butter and Nut Butters— Enjoy as a condiment spread on a slice of low carb bread, on top of low carb pancakes, or mixed into some ricotta cheese. Spread peanut butter on celery sticks for a filling low carb snack. Almond butter and sunflower seed butter are tasty alternatives.Healthy Easy Lentil Salad
  10. Beans— High in protein and fiber, lentils, kidney beans, pinto beans, black beans, chickpeas, and cannellini beans make filling additions to your meals. Keep portions small because these are high in carbs: ¼ cup of kidney beans beans has 10 grams of carbs (7 grams net carbs). Beans can be included on more liberal and maintenance low carb menus. Not recommended on ketogenic or Atkins Induction diets due to their high carbohydrate content.
